Status
This message was originally posted by lambeausam.
Since several new members seem to have had to "start over" with posting and many of our most recent actives threads are gone...how about everyone posting a status report so we can all get caught up! I am still the proud parent of two sons and our home has three open slots. We haven't had any placements since January. |

Nothing since January? Why not? Did you request that, or is there just no children coming your way? MY UPDATE. We became licensed on Monday. Just waiting for a phone call now.

Hello everyone! I haven't posted on here forever, but was very disappointed when the board "disappeared". Anyway....right now we are in the licensing process. The only thing left for us to do is one more class! It is on May 17th and then we will be ALL FINISHED!!!!!! YIPEEEEE!! Our licensing worker said that we could accept children as soon as May 18th, so I'm very excited. Less than a month! ![]() We have 2 bio. boys (3 and 1) and will be accepting girls from 1-3. We are open to adopting one of our fd's eventually. ![]() Okay, that's my update. Hopefully I'll have lots more to contribute to this board soon. I've checked out other boards and I'm not a big fan of them. ![]() TTYS! Lisa |

I'm so glad the board is back up; it's too bad about all the 'lost' threads! We are in the process of adopting a sibling group ages 8, 7, & 19 months; we are currently fostering another sibling group ages 6 years & twins of 11 months. They will be going home in a couple of weeks and I am actually feeling somewhat relieved! Bdad of the twins in doing everything right and if that continues for two more weeks he will have all three placed with him (the judge says so, so ...). They are nice kids but having them in the house has really disrupted our 7 & 8 year olds! After they leave we are taking a break at least until after the adoption is final, and probably for the entire year the agency suggests! We also have an 18 year old we adopted at age 6. It's a full house! |

I am also glad the board is back!!! We have 3 bio girls. 18,15,and 9. My 9yr old has spina bifida. I have 2 fd 3yr and 10weeks old. the 3yr old we have had for 8months and she has been in foster care for 16 months she will go for TPR June3rd. We still haven't seen a Plan for the 10week old the mother is only 13!!! Me and my DH both have full time jobs so we are pretty busy. We are full at this time but we still get calls to take more children. Glad to hear from everyone!! Harley |

We have 21yo BS, 14yo BD, and 7yo BD. We currently are fostering 2 & 3yo sisters. They have been with us 3 months and have been in the system for 9 months. We were asked to adopt because it looks like a TPR case about 5 weeks ago. We just found out that their Bmom is pregnant and due in June. At this point if the case goes to TPR we will not adopt. I am sure they can find a great home that can keep all 3 siblings together. We just do not have the room for 3 more children.

We had 3 leave in March . J was here from birth and was adopted at 19 months. R and M were here 13 months and went to dad at 3 yrs and 20 months. It was very sad as they all left within 2 weeks of each other. I then received 3 more little ones 5 months, 2 months and 5 but they were all on their way to relative placements so longest one was here for 18 days. Then i had 10 days with no calls then voila!!!A call for 3 brothers ages 3.5 months, 13 months, and 2.3yrs. Wow this mom has a baby a year!!!!They are wonderful-all nice kids no problems and are probably going to be long term as there are 3 others in care that are older. Only reason she had these were with her was that she was on the run and had them while running form the police!!ANyhow I am glad to be back with lots of babies to keep me busy!! |

I really missed this board, too. Right now I am waiting for the state to approve me to be licensed for foster care in addition to my daycare license. I decided this morning that I need to switch agencies and go with the choice that I made over a year ago. They weren't the agency that taught the MAPP class that I went to, and I made some friends in class that gave me the idea to stay with the same agency. Well, I have been waiting for months for the state to give me an answer....and believe that God is directing me to the original agency. Long story.... So here goes.....I am contacting them tomorrow to send me the paperwork and I'll see what to do next. Jill |

We have an almost 2 y/o son, an almost 1 y/o dfd, and 4, 5, 8, and 14 y/o foster son's. Also my baby girls almost 3 y/o brother should finally be with us soon, like in the next week or so but the now his fp has decided to fight the move. I wish they had done the move when we asked 11 months ago ![]() The 8 y/o just came last night and has diabetes, noone would take him because they were scared. I said sure but get the waiver ready beause that will make 7 in the house. Poor W is the only girl but she is spoiled rotten....along with the rest of them ![]()
