My baby is coming!

This message was originally posted by heypaula.

My 2 year old permanent placement is coming officially on May 9th. I guess it take some time to get her home therapists lined up for the switch. But, she gets to spend all of her free time with us until she moves. She was here for the weekend and is coming this weekend. We can't wait. She has already torn down the border by her crib and played with it. But, oh well. I can fix it. Now I know to move her crib away from the wall. hehehe

Hope you are all doing well. It's been awhile since we've heard any updates. Looking forward to it.

By permanent do you mean long-term or adoptive?

Hi Megwing...

T is eligible for TPR in May, but they are continuing to allow mom to have more chances to work with her. The CW did say that in September she will have the hearing to either return her to mom or do the TPR and start the adoption proceedings. Of course, we are hoping for the TPR. Mom delivered her second baby a little over a week ago, but so far, seems to be doing okay with him. He is perfectly healthy and he is easier for her to handle. T's condition overwhelms her at times. She is the little one with a feeding tube.

She's been eating a good bit this week. She now loves to eat peanut butter with a spoon. She likes mashed potatoes and pancakes with syrup. She decide today that she loves ice water. She drank a lot. When she gets up to 2 ounces of food at a sitting, she'll go inpatient for a month and the tube will come out. We are so excited that she's starting to eat so good now. Maybe she'll get it out soon.

Hey Lisa!

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. It's been crazy around here with 3 girls to chase around. But we're loving every minute of it. Yes, I'd love to get together with you and your kids soon. S goes to school every day from 12:30-3:10, so our schedule is a bit hectic. But, maybe next weekend we could do something.

I guess mom is doing good with the baby so far!

TTYL

Hey Paula! Well, tomorrow is your big day to get T!!! I bet you are so excited! How are the other 2 lil ones doing? Are they still with you? You will have the best Mother's Day this year! I would definately love to still get together. My weekends are crazy though right now, so we'll have to figure something out. lol What if we got together at like 10:00 some day and then you could take her to school? Just let me know...we'll figure something out!

Thanks ladies! I took my two short term placements to live with their grandmother today. They seemed excited. I miss them like crazy and have held back the tears all day. On the other hand, I went to the Children's Institute with T today and she did really good with eating today. She's making such progress. It won't be long until she gets the feeding tube out forever.

We are picking her up at 12:30 tomorrow. I brought most of her things home with me today and am getting ready to put it all away for her.

We sure are excited and looking forward to it. In September they will have the hearing to decide if we'll get the TPR or not. Keep your fingers crossed!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you also. It will be nice to actually be able to celebrate this holiday. I've waited 34 years for this. Yippee!!!!!

Ok, I am anticipating your next post letting us know how bringing her finally HOME goes. I am so excited for you. I am starting to give up my soaps and replacing it with the board. Real life is much more exciting.
