My question may seem selfish, but does anyone know where a desperate foster mom can get a minivan for little or nothing? Car dealers can't help us because we owe to much on our car. I need a van NOW. The dealer said wait a year HA! I have up to five kids at a time. Help!!

Maybe this will help

Hi,
I am a foster mother of two that works at a new car dealership.

I have a few ideas. Our local sheriff dept takes impounded cars and has an auction a few times a year. Also the local Red Cross takes cars for donations and auctions them off too. You can get good cars at a steal!

I do know that our Outreach Ministry in this county takes donated cars and sells them or gives them to people who are in need.

I know this because I do most of the outside titlework for some of these vehicles.

Also, there is low or no interest on lots of new cars now.

I am in the same boat as you! I have a 2-door lincoln that was not made for hauling kids around. But do I give up my sporty car for a van and then three months later the kids may go back home?
We have no children of our own and do not know whether we want to continue fostering after these two go back home (IF THEY DO AT ALL).

The parents have just renewed there volenteer placement, so we know that we will have the children three more months. If they go back my heart will be torn out!
Good luck,
Nina
