A Poem I just wrote.. Dedicated to my son Brandon
The Rollercoaster Ride (adoption of Brandon)
I stood at the gate and waited until it was my turn. With a Big Smile on my face, I stepped up, unconcerned. Into our home this new child would be placed. In our hearts his smile could never be Erased. We all took a Seat Hubby in front, me and Hunter behind. Then it happened, what did I see, what did I find? My Family and Friends filled up the other seats. There hands were folded in Prayer in hopes they too could meet. This Child that has come into our hearts and home. This child who needs love and a place all his own. The ride starts up and down the tracks we go. Where this ride leads none of us knows. The child they placed in my arms is a liitle Boy. 4 days old and full of love, a little bundle of joy. The rollercoaster starts up the hill. gradule and real slow. Birthmom comes for a visit will he stay, no one knows... The coaster starts down as we all smile. Birthmom hasn't visited, its been awhile. The child I hold in my arms smiles up at me. Like he knows, I am praying to be his mommy. The rollercoaster goes up another hill really slow. as Birthdad enters the picture does he know? Does he know how much this little boy, means to us all? Our family loves him and then the call.. As the rollercoaster goes up the hill. We get a call that Birthdad wants to see him still. The coaster hits the very top as we all wait with our hands in the air. Praying that God sees our Love for this child through our fear. Prayers are answered as we plumit a free fall like no other. Dad had decided to surrender. I am halfway there to be his mother. Then we go up one last hill as birthmom decides what she will do. As the coaster falls and comes to a stop, another surrender Yahoo! I hold our son so tight in my arms and we get off the Rollercoaster Ride. Our family and friends all gather round and thank God for this Miracle we have found. Written By Jennifer Loomis... Dedicated to my little boy Brandon Michael who was sooo worth the ride.. _________________
