2 year journey
Well, I'm new to the forum and decided to share my 2+ year foster to adopt story. I was licensed the end of July 2010 and received my first placement a few days later... a toddler. She was adorable and I was terrified because I don't have any bio children. We started down an unsure path because she was listed as Baby Unknown... no one knew her family, name, age or anything. The first couple of days were rough but she never cried and seemed happy right away. After 6 months of mom trying somewhat to comply, she was unable to stay clean and complete the minimal requirements. Plan was changed from reunification to adoption by me. It is now 25 months later and our finalization hearing is tomorrow morning. I decided to post to let everyone know it is worth the heartache, tears, pain, questions "why" and prayers. In the end, I have just what I always wanted...a beautiful little girl! Will update tomorrow once papers are signed and decree is in hand!!!

Thank you very much! Finalized today and certified decree in hand before I left the court. It's been a long time but thank God we made it. Baby and I are celebrating tonight!
