Very familiar been gooing thru it for nearly 2 yrs. Our first was a 9week old boy after 8 months with us in foster care the adoption process started not too bad just had to remember what i ate for food as a child etc for the home study and stuff. then the day before his adoption was final we got a call that his sister was about to be taken into custody so we had 4 hours to get ready for her. she has now been with us for 8 months and the trial is set for late january. so the up side is a good loving child is getting a chance at a new life. the down side is the paperwork the waiting the delays etc.......all that at times may be hard BUT when the finalization day comes and you stand before the judge and he/she says the child is now officially yours believe me the tears of joy will flow and all of that will be forgotten. keep your head up stay strong it is a long process 16 to 24 months here in MA but it is a good time my wife and I are in our 40's and would not change it for the world. Our 20yr old daughter though has asked if we are done adopting our answer is yes....for now we have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 1yr old sowe want to wait a yr or 2 then decide

We are adopting from SC foster care. We are not going to be foster parents first though. We have agreed to do foster-adopt if that's what works out, meaning we would technically be foster parents but to a child we're planning to adopt when they are legally free. We're in the very early stages but I'll be glad to answer any questions if I can.
