Need adoption gift ideas

Our adoption will be final this Thursday. I'm so excited and I feel very similar to how I felt when my husband and I got married. (I know that's strange...)

I would like to get all of them something special as an adoption gift. I've bought the girls tiny little gold rings and bracelets, but I can't decide on what to get my son. I want it to be something special that he can keep as an heirloom reminder. Any ideas?

Also, I need to buy babybooks/adoption books for all 3 of them. I need one that would be appropriate for adopted children of course. Can anyone recommend one for us? My son didn't come to live with us forever till he was 5, so if there was one available that didn't "major" on the babyhood part that would be best. My daughters were 1 and 3 when they came to us.

Also, I'd love to get ideas on special ways to celebrate this wonderful day! Any ideas for this?

Get him a ring in an adult size that he can wear when he grows up with the adoption date on it.

For a boy, it is quite hard, because they lose everything...they are not as sentimental as girls...that's why I say an adult sized ring, and let him know it's his and he can look at it and wear it on a necklace at home, but until he's old enough...he can't wear it outside the home.

Or, as the PP said, an ID bracelet would be nice, too.

Our oldest son was 4yrs when we finialized his adoption. We gave him a silver band with his new initals engraved on the inside. And I found a nice adoption picture frame. My mom gave him a small quilt. It is the size of a baby blanket, but he uses it as a throw.
We finalized our baby's adoption a couple months ago. We gave him an ID braclet with his new initals. I am still looking for some kind of keepsake box for it.

I love all of these ideas. Thank you!

For the ID bracelets, did you get them child-sized or adult sized?

I love the ring idea also! I'll look around at some jewelry stores tonight.

Thanks again

The ring was a child size. I looked everywhere and ending up ording it from Wal-Mart. I bought a baby ID braclet from a jewerly store. I like the idea of giving them something that fits now so when they grow up they can see how litttle they were.

I bought a 16x20 black poster frame. Then I had a 5x7 photo of my daughter blowing out the candle on her 2nd birthday cake with big sister over her shoulder helping. (It was just one of those really great photos you love, you know.) Anyhow, I mounted it in the center of a piece of white posterboard and then put out a thin Sharpie marker at her adoption party and had all our family and friends sign and date it and write special messages to her. Then I framed it in the poster frame.

We also got her a gold cross necklace because she was dedicated the same day as her adoption party and we gave our oldest daughter a gold cross on her dedication day.

For the baby/adoption book I bought our oldest son a memory book called My family My Journey. It is perfect for older child adoptions. I think I got if from Amazon.
