need some advice (xpost)
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone filed to become a de facto parent? What was your experience and when did you file? I currently have a 6 1/2 month old we have fostered about 6 months. The case is still currently officially RU but the birthmom isn't completely working her plan. Visits have changed from 3 times per week to 1 time per week and the PRU has called to make sure we are still interested in adoption. I'm not sure exactly what's going on because our CW really won't tell me anything. I do want to file to become a de facto parent but have also heard DCFS might look at it badly, like I'm not supporting RU. Any advice? By the way, I'm in California and I think I can file at 6 months. Thank you.
