OMG, Im so not ready for this!

I just got a call for a legal risk placement. Its a 4 month old baby boy. Im so not ready, but I could not say no. My agency, gotta love them, very rare take legal risk. But everyone knew that we were planning to go to a county to do fost/adopt. Well they got a call for a baby boy legal risk needed a temp home or if possible fost/adopt home. My ageny would only take him, if I take him. Im so excited, but nervouse. My double stroller broke a few months back. So I need to find one fast. I start watching my friends baby in two weeks, for three days a week. So for three days a week I will have a 2 month old, a 4 month old, a 13 month old (does not walk yet), a 2yr old and 6yr old. Im nuts.

Well he is here and he is adorable. Im his third home. His first home, dont know why, but he was removed, second home was just temp. Now here. He is soo tiny. He looks more like 2 months. He has lots of colic, poor guy. He will not eat much and when he does he cries while he eats. I have only got one ounce in him. Im planning to try some baby cereal and see how he does in few hours. He looooves the swing and prefer that then being held. Poor guy, couse I looove holding babies, Im just giving him a break, but starting tomorrow Holding time .

Hello Shycar- congrats on the new baby. What kind of formula is he on? If he is not on this, maybe you could try Enfamil Gentlease and id that don't help maybe some Gripewater. Just a thought. Have fun with him.

All 3 of my boys had colic. On advice of ped, I added beano to formula. Definitely took care of the colic.

I wouldn't add cereal to his diet yet, too young. Did you say he doesn't like to be held? Could be a warning sign...talk to the pediatrician. Do you know the mother's drug/alcohol history? Don't mean to rain on your parade. Enjoy him

Update

Well he is doing wonderful. I think a lot of his issues was he did not know us. He now wants to be held all the time hehe. I carry him in those things infront of me, he loooves that. He is eating so much better. Now he is eating 4oz each feeding, no more crying during feedings. The doc told me to put an extra scoop to help him gain waight. I know its only been a week, but I swear his cheeks look fuller. He coos away and laughs and smiles at the kids. He is such a happy baby now. I dont know what happen in the previouse foster home, but sw said they only complained about the baby being so needy. I dont feel he is needy, he just wants some love. Yesterday was first visit since he has been with me. His b-parents where shocked when they saw him. Their first word out of their mouth was "Oh he looks so happy now and looks so calm." That made me feel good. I dont know what will happen with him. I dont know if b-parents will finally do what they need to do and get him back or if he will become my son in the future. All I do know is that Im soooo enjoying him and yes you guessed it Im soo in love with this little guy .
