Question How do they handle grandparents as daily babysitter???

Hello,

I'm work part time (3 days a week for only 5 hours) I'm about to start foster parenting but I'm wondering how DSS will handle me background because my mother is my current daily 'daycare provider'.
If I start to foster children but want them to also say with my mother during the day does her home have to be inspected???J

In NV, yes. She would have to be checked out as a non-primary care-giver and her home would have to be checked as well.
But, it is different in every state, so check with your local DSS.

By the way, I love your Avatar!!!

Thanks so much Waited2Long! I figured that. I'll double check with the policy in MD.

I just noticed your signature. Wow. I hope everything turns out well for you.

And Thanks for the compliment on my avatar! I like yours also.

Thanks for the "luck", I can use all I can get! LOL

I hope you have an easy (and quick) time getting your Mother approved.

My mom just had to get her fingerprints done at the DFCS office. It was done quickly and easily. She's been sitting since day one, but they now pay her (through me) to watch my fd. It was probably the easiest part of this process so far. I live in Georgia.

Here in Florida my Mom had to go to the local FSS office and have her fingerprints taken. She is able to watch our niece only at our house because our house has been cleared as a foster parent home. If she is to take her to her house we would have to be present. So, she comes over here to watch her.

If in the future she wishes to watch her over there she would have to have her home inspected and cleared. But for now it's working out OK with her coming over here
