OMG, the CW said she's filing the TPR!!!!!!!!!!! If I hadn't told you guys already, the mom had a positive drug screen back in late March, she's supposed to go the a residential treatment facility, and the baby has at this point been in care for 16+ months.

I'm glad the case is moving forward in a positive direction so this precious baby can get some closure.

Lamaena - Congratulations to you.

23 months in for me and still concurrent planning goal. I wait and pray.

This is ridiculous......

Thanks guys! I am trying to remain positive but know all too well that things pop up at times when least expected. I am hoping for a smooth process with no more downs.

We'll see!

Hi everyone! I got a sibling placement March 5. A is a beautiful blonde, blue eyed little girl who will be 2 in May. Her baby brother B is the cutest baby ever and is 8 months.

A is legally free for adoption
B's mom still has her rights, but she just got kicked out of reunification court yesterday and was informed her rights will be terminated 7/21, B's 1st bday. So the tpr paperwork has begun. We're hoping she'll sign a voluntary and has actually asked for the paperwork to be drawn up in the past but never followed thru on it.

Both kids were with mom's cousins as a kinship placement until the end of January. The home got closed due to domestic violence (nothing to do with the kids). They are appealing this. If they win the appeal we'll lose both kids. But everyone has told us they basically don't stand a chance in winning the appeal. I've learned to take everything the sw's say with a grain of salt because HEY..you just never know what will happen.

So we're sitting tight and loving these little ones and making the adjustment of going from 1 to 3 kids, all 3 and under! And we're hoping it will be smooth sailing and we'll actually be able to finalize by Sept which the sw's are saying.

SOOOOOOOOO glad to be able to join this thread!

BF --- No OAA

Hi everyone!
BF is working his plan. BF changed his mind about OAA.
This happened the day of trial. I was floored!
I am praying so hard. Please pray for us!

Lameana - I'm glad that they are finally deciding on what's in the best interest of the child.

HopefulinPA - that really is best case scenario.

Vernell - That prayer made me cry, thanks for posting it. I actually actually printed it and put it in my wallet to look at it every now and then. I have a couple of prayers that I keep in my wallet for different situations.

Update on us - We are still concurrent, the courts granted another 3 months to bp since they were kinda doing some of their stuff on the cp. On the Mom's end it looks like TPR and Dad's end, we are not sure, it's all scrambled and confusing.

At this point even if it were go to TPR, I don't think I'm in a position to want to adopt the eldest of my fsons. Even though they have been with us for almost 8 months, its hard to say that I can commit to him on a forever basis. With all the behavior and mental problems its been a big undertaking, which we will fight to keep him until a preadoptive placement or r/u. The worst thing that I wouldn't want to happen is to have a failed adoption. WHo knows TPR can be a lengthy process with appeals (which I am positive Dad will appeal) that he and we come around. With him being in limbo for the better part of 2 years he's soo confused on how to take things and deal with certain things... I don't know, we just wait and see.

I would love love love to adopt Mr. Touchy. So we will continue to wait and see. Their siblings so more than likely they wouldn't want to split them up and on top of that there is 2 more that are not in my home. So more than likely I wouldn't be able to adopt just one and I'm positive the other foster mom does not want my 2. I don't know we are so confused and don't know what to do.

The BF was added to the trial. The trial ended on Friday.
Next month, we will find out if the judge ruled in our favor.
Will the judge take in consideration BF going into treatment now? The foster care review (18th month) were not impressed.
Baby J is 18 months now.

I printed out the prayer and sent to all my friends and family. Thanks so much for that. We are talking about WORRYING in Church. God doesn't like it. Everytime I go to worry I read your prayer. Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread has helped me so much. It helps to know that others KNOW what you're going through. Friends and family try to be supportive but there's something to be said for "discussing" it with people who really KNOW.

Glad the prayer has helped many. Let's continue to be "support" for each other!

If you get a chance - rate this thread. Go to the top..

Not sure what the rating accomplishes but I know I love the thread!

I've been waiting and hoping that we could eventually post on this thread. Our daughter's birthfather reliquished to us just about three weeks ago, birthmom reliquished last week. So, now we wait for all the paperwork so we can FINALIZE!!!!! Its a pretty easy case, I think because of the voluntarily reliquishment and we're not eligible for subsidy due to her age. So, we're hoping for a summer adoption

Please go to any court hearing that you are informed of

Thanks

Please go to any court hearing that you are informed of. Your appearance lets the judge know that you are serious.

Cour Hearing

Please attend any hearing that you are made aware of for your child. Your appearance lets all the Powers To Be know that you are concerned and committed. If you are present at every hearing, you will know everything that is going on with your child and there will not be any surprises. Be informed and active in your child's life and court dates are very important and the Judge may want to speak with me.

Not an option in some states. In NJ, FPs (generally) are only allowed in to make a statement then they must leave as bios are afforded privacy.

Wow it was funny seeing my quote from almost a year ago. Since then, I went to every hearing, and my FS is now available for adoption.

I was so naive back then. Its amazing how different life can become in 10 short months.

PS. I was allowed to speak at every court hearing. I'm not sure if that is typical though.
