problems with paperwork in arkansas

Is there anyone out there as of today who has been in the process of adopting from arkansas through DHS who can't get their paperwork done? We are starting this thread in hopes of moving things along in the paperwork process for everyone in arkansas and to hopefully one day change a law that geives DHS workers a certain time start ot finish or to be held accountable. This is our second adoption and are running into the same problems we faced 3 years ago. This time, I plan on making the state reps and the gov aware of what is going on. If you have any thing to add, please email me or post and I'll be in touch. Please include your county.

We are going through foster to adopt because we felt that this may speed the process. If you will notice, we have been going through the process of just getting approved to be licensed forever!


I was pulled over in 2004 and was given a ticket for failure to dim my headlights. We had to get compliance approval and just this week finally got the go ahead to begin classes? We are just floored that they long to have foster / adoptive parents, need them extremely bad and then when a good family takes the jump, they drag paperwork out forever it seems.

I am so happy that we finally got our approval, but the journey has been long... I think personally that they forgot about us... We too are in Arkansas....
