Still waiting for a match but today our license came in the mail eventhough we have been licensed for weeks. At least that is something worth celebrating I guess. We are still waiting

They have moved my meet with J up from sept 11 to next Friday
I am supposed to meet with my cw and discuss what the expectations for this meet are since I have never done this before . So Excited. I think after we do the meet they will decide whether or not they would like us to be his family.

So excited for you tx !! Good luck on this next part of the roller coaster ride. I hope you get to meet R soon.

So it seems we will both be going through things about the same time. Keep me updated.

As for as an update on our daughter to be:
* Our caseworker agreed that we could go ahead and start pre-placement visits given that we are soooo comfortable with the data we have so far.
* We met with the local elementary school and even though daughter-to-be won't be here until the 2nd to third week of school, they are going to determine the best class for her and ensure that there will be a spot in that classroom/with that teacher for her. So she won't be stuck in just any class because there's a seat available.
* We are anxiously awaiting the chance to get to meet her. Couldn't be happier.

Oh you are going to have so much fun! Our DD turns 6 next month. This is SUCH a fun age! She loves spending time with mom. Even if it's just cooking dinner or washing dishes, she wants to be right there with me. Painting nails, doing hair, dancing in the living room, shopping for shoes...so much fun!

My "P" just turned 7 in June. Here's what you can hopefully look forward to. This morning I was a "student" in her classroom getting ready for the new school year, then I was a mommy and had to sign up three kids for school (two were dolls and one was a teddy bear) and I had to list their favorite foods and their allergies. P asked me if any of my "kids" were allergic to peanuts! What a crack up! Then we had to pack a diaperbag for her to take with her today on her visit. She took her doll, Emme, and had to make sure all was packed. Then we took the dog for a walk while she rode her scooter. All that between 8:30 and 11:30. I like the saying myforeverkids3 has on her signature line "I could have missed the pain, but then I'd have missed the dance." Every day with P is a ride, but then every day I also feel the pain of losing my first baby Emme (it is a year this month that she is gone.) P is a pure mix of little girl wanting to be held and cuddled with a grown-up girl wanting make-up and lip gloss. She is adorable! It was rough for the first few months and she still has her moments, but she is usually fun to have around and I miss her when she is at her visits. I wish you Good Luck!

Thank you so much everybody. I am so excited to both snug up a little one and have the shopping companion. It's just me and her...I am so excited with of course a healthy amount of fear mixed in!

FYI, it's just me and P, too and the other day she looked at me and said, "You do know I want a daddy, right?" Oh, no, don't tell me I need to go back to Match.com!!!!

Oh that would be awesome! You could read the men's past life history and psychological evaluation before dating them! I like that idea!! I agree with the others, it is such a wonderful age and they are so funny and snuggly.
I'm pounding my head against the wall here. We keep asking for a very specific piece of information regarding the child we inquired about to determine if he is safe around the other kiddos or not, and we are receiving everything BUT that. It's as if it's being downplayed and we are getting other people's opinions that he's safe but.....when it comes to my kiddos nobody's opinion matters but mine in regards to their safety, lol! So my thought is, okay. If it's really no big deal and he's so safe, why not just send us the documentation? Hmmm. I think we're about to pass because that deep down gut feeling isn't so good right about now. HOWEVER, I have talked dh into attending an adoption gathering this weekend, yippee!

So, in terms of an update, we received word yesterday from our caseworker that the caseworker for our daughter to be is going on vacation for 10 days and then has court and training when she returns so the earliest day we can have our first meeting is September 9. I can't believe we are ready for everything to happen and pre-placement visits to start and yet we are delayed because of a social worker's unavailability for THREE weeks!

GRRRR

But, at least we are still moving forward.

I read R's file and was sad, but am very pleased and happy to move forward. She has a good fighting spirit and I am so excited to have such a great daughter. I recieved the subsidy paperwork via email today and overnighted it back to them before 12 this morning.

They want to settle it before they will let me visit her.

They did however give me contact information for therapist, past teachers, and her foster mom and told them all they could disclose any and everything to me.
