I'm posting this a couple places, because I really want some good opinions. I am being considered for a 9 year old girl. I have had a conversation with her worker about her family history, placements, etc. I will be getting additional information about all of that in the next few weeks. There is more I want to know, but overall I feel comfortable with the situation.

I have the great chance to talk with a woman who was this girl’s foster mother. Of all the placements, the 9 year old was with her the longest, though the family strictly wants to foster, not adopt. What should I ask? I don’t want to go too much into the girl’s history, etc., I want to know about her. Any suggestions?

1. Why was she moved from your house?
2. What issues did you have with her?
3. How did she do in school?
4. What does she like?

Does she have close friends that she should/should not remain in contact with?
What foods does she like?
What activities does she enjoy?
How does she do in school? Peer relations?
