Hi!!! We've had our three beautiful babies for three years and they are now in the "adoption" department. Our home study is on June 30th... anyone have an idea how long before we can finalize???

Congrats!

My timeline is in my signature, it has really just been a paper chase since TPR.

I've had my babies 2 years now...sooo tired of paper chases & ready for homestudy! So you were 4 months from home study to finalization. Wow....it's surreal, finally happening.! We're adopting a sibling set from CA foster system.

Actually tpr to finalization will be 6 months, but still not bad. The homestudy portion of that was only an update of our previous homestudy. If this is your first homestudy I would allow a little more time.

In the meantime be sure to ask what medicals, clearances, etc that you need updated, the social workers always wait soooo long to tell you that :-(

My understanding is that they can throw the homestudy together pretty quickly in a situation like yours. You've laready met the six month minimum for having them in your home. I would think it would be quick. Have you had them for 2 years or 3? I think you said both. Good luck!

Three years for the younger ones, two years for the older sibling.

I am from WA, but we only had to wait 30 days from TPR to see if the parents filed an appeal. After that it was 3 weeks...just because it was around the holidays and WE chose to wait until after Christmas. Once it was in the adoption department, they didn't waste any time. The case has already been proven adn it is just a matter of paperwork for them. Of course every state is different too.
