I was on my home from north carolina monday night ( I was suppose to pick my baby brother up from the army but he was denied at the last minute )and my husband called to tell me our lawyer called and we had a court date on christmas eve for our sons adoption . I was so shocked here my mother and I were down in the dumps from my baby bro not coming home and then to find my sons adoption is less then 2 days away allls I could say was holy ---- .
So today was the adoption and I would have enjoyed it more ikf I didnt come down with severe tonsilities monday night . Granted I am so very happy and releived it finally has happened after 4&1/2 years and he is ours FOREVER !!!!!
when he was a little baby and they had asked us if we would adopt him if it was to happen we talked about changing his name from kyle ------- to patrick john and with him being older we decided to call him kyle patrick john well after all said and done he wants to be called patrick john so we will wait it out till christmas break and see how he wants it to be before he goes back to school and go from there I dont want to push it to fast and hurt him somehow any ideas I will welcome .
By the way I called my brother to tell him him about the adoption seeing he is our sons godfather ( once the adoption went thru ) and he told me that if mom and I had stayed 1 more day he would have been able to take that leave I was so mad !!
Well after writing this book I will sign off I had to share the news and also say after thinking it never would happen be patient if you love that child enough it will happen and it will be yours forever !!!

Many, many congratulations. Hoping it'll happen for us, too - our kids' bmother is contesting and our poor kids are stressed out not knowing if this will last (this is their first "normal" Christmas with presents, a tree and no fear of physical pain).

Thank you it was a really long wait and even though there was a slim to none chance he would go back I always had that fear .
