I used a similar format for my two sons. Same information except the last line was "Finally a 'Smith': January 1, 2004."

I had the announcements printed on blue vellum and tucked a picture inside. I closed the announcement with a small bow made of ribbon.

We made our own, I think it's a great idea. I took a picture of the girls with my digital camera and used it to make an announcement with. I can't remember the exact wording, but we put something about announcing two additions to our family and put their names and their final adoption date on them. I have a HORRIBLE memory and I feel bad that I can't remember my exact wording without digging one out of the keepsake box.

Mckenna,

I could not find any either so I wrote a poem for her and it went on the front. Then all other information on the inside and at the top it read "Forever a Family".

Thumbs up home made

The home made announcements seem to be the way to go.
I did ours on the computer. The front was a beach scene with an umbrella and sandpails. It read "Guess who's joined our beach brigade?" We live in a coastal area. Inside I put their names and DOB and lovingly welcomed home with the date, proud parents...
Our family/friends really liked them.
I did search the net for cards, but couldn't settle on any. Our kids were 5 & 8 when we got them, and I saw primarily infant announcements .

Good Luck!

This is ours:

With all the love and joy our hearts can hold
we announce the birth of

chid

into the world
date and time
Weight and lengh

into our lives
date and the time we first held her

our names

we will be doing these again once we sign the adoption papers for our second sometime next month.

That saying is so sweet! I love it.
