Homestudy Was Approved
OUR HOMESTUDY WAS APPROVED ON THE 24 AND HAD A MATCH FROM CASEWORKER THE NEXT DAY SO I HAVE A QUESTION? wE ARE VISITING WITH CHILDREN THIS FRIDAY AND I WANTED TO KNOW IF WHEN IT'S THE FIRST VISIT SHOULD IT BE ONLY WITH ME AND HUSBAND I HAVE 5 OTHER CHILDREN AND I DIDN'T WANT TO OVER STIMULATE THE CHILDREN WE ARE BEING MATCHED WITH I THOUGHT IF THE 1ST VISIT WENT OK THEN MAYBE THEY COULD MEET AT THE NEXT VISIT. WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK ? ALSO ONE OF THE CHILDRENS BIRTHDAY IS FRIDAY DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE OK TO GET SOMETHING FOR THE BIRTHDAY AND ALSO SOMETHING FOR THE OTHER CHILD. AND WHAT WOULD I GET THE GIRL IS 4 SOON TO BE 5 AND THE BOY 6. NOT SURE OF WHAT EACH CHILD LIKES SO WHAT COULD I GET THEM? |

We had a visit with children at our house today and OMG it isn't going to work i thought .Me and my husband discussed the visit and we came to a decision of not to go any further with this i feel really bad but i think it would be best. I keep thinking can i really handle this situation or not but we made our decision. FAS and ADHD is really hard to deal with i really researched and i had an open mind and i don't think i can handle this and 5 other children now if i didn't have 5 children then yes i could deal with this but for now we decided not to pursue adoption of the group.

It is a hard choice to make, but you have to do what is right for you and your other children. Children with those diagnosis can be alot to handle and turn your life upside down if you are not ready for it. The right match will come along. Hang in there.
Our first visit with Eric was without the kids. The second visit we included the children. We thought 5 kids and two nervous parents would be too much for him. I am glad we did it that way.
