anyone in pinellas or pasco using the SCC?

Just curious if anyone from pinellas and pasco counties are having the same amount of problems with the SCC as we are.

I used SCC. twice, I felt that we were lied to in both cases. The first time we did adopt the children but our 2nd one feel through.

Same here... though our impression with Pasco has been much better than Pinellas.

I always seem to have to fire off nasty emails to get action. I don't get any satisfaction from doing that, but heaven only knows why that's the ONLY way we get things done.

I hear you and I feel your pain. We've been waiting and waiting. We did have some activity a while ago but it's all fizzled out.

From what we've been told, the SCC is supposed to have match meetings once a month. That's not happening. I know of at least 2 months in a row where that didn't happen. All that means is that you just continue to wait and wait.

Just imagine how many people are waiting. A while back I was given a figure of how many kids were available for adoption.. I think it was over 500, however you take that number and cut it in 1/2 because the foster parents were planning on adopting them. So all in all you have roughly 250 available and though I wasn't told the ages it's a shame we're still waiting.

I'm not sure what age ranges you're looking for, but you may want to adjust ages/problems you are willing to adopt. It may produce more activity and you can always say no. Right now we're willing to adopt 0 - 5 boys and 0-12 girls.

It's tough waiting, but we're convinced it'll eventually happen.

Hi .. I just sent you a PM.. I was away on business and hadn't had the opportunity to send the email over to the SCC.

Keep in mind that depending on what ages and issues you're willing to adopt you could be waiting a while, and by while I mean years.

For example.. If you were willing to adopt only an infant ages 0-2, with no issues at all you'll be waiting forever.

On the flip side, if you were willing to adopt ages 3-15 of any race and with any issues you'd have a placement in no time at all. Then after the 90 day transition period your adoption would be finalized.

Not knowing your specifics makes it next to impossible to determine why you're still waiting.
