F Adoptee ISO Bmom/family DOB 5/4/70 Hollywood

I am looking for my birth mother or any birth family.

My birth certificate says I was born on May 4, 1970 in Hollywood Florida, but there's a possibility this may be untrue, as I've found out that Florida is known to falsify adoptee information. Because of this, don't be hesistant to contact me just because the city/date doesn't exactly match . I have much non-identifying information - some of it very specific - if you think there is a possibility of a match and would like to compare notes.

I am almost 100% sure the adoption was through Children's Home Society. The only other possible place would be through Catholic Charities, it was definately one or the other. Am expecting exact confirmation of the agency sometime this week (aparents away on vacation, hehe)

sincerely
Heather

Lightbulb A Birth Mother Searching

Hello Heather, I'm Dawn M. Rieker Hancock, I'm searching for my Child, I relinquish my Child 9/16-23/70 in Tampa Fl., in Saint Joseph's Hospital under the care of Doctors Jack M. Mezrah, Albert L. Saphier, Albert V. Cohen and Nathaniel B. Metts. , I know these Doctors have connections in Miami, for I've found their names in the Miami/Dade Online Clerk Records Site, I also know that the State of Florida changes an adopted persons birth cert. and understanding that I don't just look at Hillsborough Co. Fl. OH, and Alice's story is a favorite of mine, I read it four times before I was 16, I give birth when I was 17, I was married to my childs birthfather but I wasn't living with him, I lived in my Fathers house in Tampa, I'm white as is Russell L. Hancock (the birth father), we both have reddish brown hair and blonde and red run high in my family, I have green eyes that are at times taken for hazel, Russell has blue, I'm slightly freckled and have A+ blood, Russell was 21 at the time of the birth, and the 1st born of 7 brothers and sisters, I have 2 younger blood brothers and 1 younger step brother, I was a student at Leto High School. My problem is relinquishing my Child brought a memory loss, I'm not totaly sure of my Childs birth day date, Neither Russell or I were inculded in any of the adoption details, we weren't even told our Childs gender, I did here that the adoption was to be private but I can not confrim it. I would like to here from you even if we arn't a match, but until I here from you, I'll be hopefully yours, Dream Of Flying, Dawn lightingou812@yahoo.com

Hi Dawn,

SO sorry for the delayed response, I live up North now and we were affected by that blackout. Even though I've had power since late Friday, we're having rolling blackouts still and my internet service is patchy at best. Hopefully I'll keep this connection long enough to be able to post finally!

Anyhow, I'm sorry to say that our info doesn't seem to match.

You are the right age to be my bmom, but I was definately born sometime around May, if not exactly May 4. I know this because my amom became pregnant with my younger brother right around the time I was adopted and there are photos of me at various ages with my amom in various stages of her pregnancy that would definately make my birthday in the spring/early summer.

My bparents were also definately unmarried. I can't be 100% sure of course, but from what my aparents were told it seems the bfather split (men!). Neither he nor any of his family were involved in the birth or adoption process. He was full blooded Italian and a little bit older than your husband at the time. Also both sides of my birthfamily have military associations although my adoption wasn't through the military.

Again, I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to respond, especially when the news isn't the greatest.

Good luck in your search! If anything I've said sounds familiar though, let me know and I'll do some more digging, maybe the info I have isn't correct, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Take Care
Heather

Same Boat

Hello Heather,

We are in the same boat. My Birth Cert. says I was born on May 04, 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida. I have seen your registries in alot of the same places I am registring at on the internet. I was adopted out through the Children's Home Society. They have given me my non-Id info but there is not much help there. I am looking for my birth mom. maybe we can compare notes on what we are doing and if there is any help or advice you can give me. seems we are going down the same path here. My BC # is 109-70-037073, I noticed on one of your registrations that your first set of numbers are 109-70, do you have any idea how they came up with the BC#'s I heard part of it was a hospital code. my hospital of birth is blanc on my Birth Cert. Write back if you want to or e-mail me at:
