Can you give me any information on the FCH in NC? I have been searching for about five years without much success. I have very little non-identifying information. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Florence Crittendon NC

Yes Florence Crittendon had only one home in NC
and it was in Charlotte. It was located across
the street from Charlotte Memorial Hospital, now
Carolinas Medical Center. Girls were there an
average of 4 months. Doctors came to the home
once a week for clinic and when it was time for
a girl to deliver she was "walked over" by one of
the nurses (one was on duty at all times). Girls
usually had two social workers, one from the home
and one from their adoption agency. Most of the
workers there were kind and compassionate, a
couple were you-know-whats. Some very close
friendships were formed there and lasted for years
among girls, usually roommates. Thirty four years
after leaving "Flo's Place" as we called it, after being
reunited with my daughter I helped my roommate
and a couple of other girls who were there with me
to find theirs. If you have questions about the home
you can send me a private message anytime.

"Paula"

HI there. My mom went to the FCh in Norfolk Virginia. Don't think that it is still open now. How would I go about finding out anything? I am desperately trying to find out the months that my mother was at the home. Was the hospital they delivered at usually pretty close? Please let me know what info you have on this home. She was at the home in 68/69, not sure which year though Jennie

adoptee searching birth mother colorado

Hello everyone I’m adoptee searching in Colorado and I was born in Colorado in Denver. I was born at st Joseph hospital I was adopted from the agency department of social services of the city and county f Denver. I was born at 4:03pm I know that my birth mom was 16,5'1 weighed 108ibls she has brown eyes, dr brown hair and fair complextion she is italian, english, my birth mom was in good health and wears glasses for reading and she lived with her aunt and uncle and she didn’t get along with her mother. Her grandma was 43 and grandfather is Italian and my birth mom's great grandmother had diabetes at age 60 and my birth mom was in 11th grade and was doing well academically and plans for college. My birth mother doesn’t have any brother or sister. Ok this is what I know about my birth father now, my birth father was 19 6'2 weighed 150lbs and had blue eyes and blond hair he was French and Swedish, he was a high school graduate and was a avg or above intelligence and had no health problem then his grandmother was 45 5’6 blue eyes blond hair and my fathers siblings he has two older brothers and one twin all over 6"all have blue eyes and blond hair. So if anyone could help me on this search because this is the information is what I had from my adoptive parents but no names they didn't have and I would really like to find my birth mom because my adoptive mom passed away two years ago and I don't have that mom to talk to anymore and I just have my adoptive dad to talk to and I miss my mom to talk to and it is hard because my adopted mom helped me with my search and now she isn't here I would like to find my birth mom and I would like to meet her someday. Thank you. I thought I would put all the information that I know about my birth parents, that my mom gave too me before she got really sick and then she got to sick and passed away. So I have a little more info if you need it. Then I just got some more information that my birth mom stayed at Florence Crittenton services on sep 20, 1976. that my birth mom lists that I would be raised in a protestant adoptive home. My birth mom lived with her aunt and uncle. My birth mom said that this was her first birth, my birth mom were glasses for reading.

Thank you AMY `11-16-1976

HI Lisa,
Would you have info for the FC Home in Columbus, Ohio? My birthmother was staying there in March, 1952, when I and twin brother were born. Thank you for the wonderful help you have presented to so many of us! Sis

Fch Terre Haute, In 1958

I Am Trying To Help My Cousin Find His Birth Mother. He Was Born 4/22/58 At Union Hospital, Terre Haute, In. The Hospital Said After 21 Years All The Records Are Destroyed. Dont Really Believe That But That Is What They Said. I Am Now Looking Into The Possibility That She Was At The Fch.
Does Anyone Have Any Info From That Time ? Or Know Where I Can Get It ?
Thank You.
