Thumbs up I have Florence Crittenton Home State Listing

Anyone that is interested. I have a listing of most of the Florence Crittenton Homes in the United States. Most of these homes were in their prime around the 60's. If you would like to request whether or not there was a FCH in a specific state, please let me know.

Do you know was there one in Illinois in the 50's?
Trying to find out more about my bmom who passed away in 1973 and she was in a foster home as a child but we don't know which one.
Thanks
Wendy

Smile info

Hello my name is Tikkri Knarr and I know there was a Florence Crittenton Home in Michigan around Jackson/Lansing I do not have exact address. I heard it changed names and the new place has the records from past adoptions. My mother tried to get info awhile ago and they told her she couldn't have info., but a sibling could. Do you know any info on this?
Thanks,

Michigan FCH

Hi,

The only two Michigan FCHomes I am aware of, are in Jackson and Detroit. I really need to do some more research on these, because I can't believe the response I am getting on these homes. Like I said, lots of these homes are no longer in existence, have been shut down, or the name is changed to another facility....so, good luck kiddo.

Lisa

thank you anyway, I found the address online. Come to find out my friend lives in Jackson, MI and I told her about the situation and she said she visits there to take gifts for the kids at Christmas every year...so Praise The Lord.
Address if others interested:
Florence Crittenton Services
1603 Lansing Ave.
Jackson, MI 49202

I pray all are successful on their searches!!!

Arizona

Ok now I'm looking to find out if there was in Pheonix Arizona in 1964? We found out that our bmom was sent " To a home for unwed mothers" whenn she was 16 years old.
Also, were these for unwed mothers, or were they for orphans or both?
Thanks
Wendy

I am trying to determine what homes for unwed mothers existed in NC in 1966. I know about Charlotte. Were there others? Thanks in advance,

Charlotte

Hi,

Yes, Charlotte, was the only Florence Crittenton home I am aware of. I did pretty extensive searching on these homes in particular, so I am pretty sure......as far as other unwed mothers homes, I haven't done research on those.....sorry! Good Luck,

Lisa

Ahhh...

Lori,

You want to know the million dollar question....bless your heart. We all want to know that, our our birthmothers want to know our name.....wouldn't it just be so much easier if the courts and states just said, "hey look, you know this is getting kind of ridiculous dont you think? All these birthmothers jumping through one hoop after another, all these adoptees hiring every one from kingdom come....and we have the answer write in front our little ole' eyes....hmmm....lets just OPEN THEM ALL.....EVERYONE IN.....YOU WANT IT....YOU CAN HAVE IT...." Such a practical person I am....lol...NOT!

But hang in there girl. We are all with you in this maze of red tape that extends here to the North Pole.......

xoxo, Lisa
