Hi, there was a Salvation Army Home in the 60s near Charlotte, and most adoptions were handled through Children's Home Society in Greensboro.

Heart

Hi All,

I, too, have a book about Flo Crit homes around the country and would be glad to look up any in your state.

Also, please be aware that mothers of the Baby Scoop Era (Post-WW!! through 1972) are invited to join the Baby Scoop Era Group message board on MSN.

Also, please visit our website at: The Baby Scoop Era ™ Research Initiative

Hugs,
KarenWB

Btw...

I meant to say that I was an "inmate" of the Flo Crit in Washington, D.C. in 1966.

Hugs,

Florence Crittenton Home Sioux City IA

Anyone know how to get any information out of these people? I have emailed them, I have called them, they always promise they will call back when they have my Non-ID information that I have requested. This has been going on for about 6 months now. I was born and adopted in May 1978.

wisteria7869@msn.com

Thanks

I've never heard of a Florence Crittenton "Hospital." I would assume that it was an actual attachment to the FC "home." Many FC's did do actual deliveries on the grounds of the "home."

You might be able to contact the Florence Crittenton center in Silver Spring, Maryland for help in locating whatever information you are seeking. They might be able to help.... or refer you to someone who can.

Also there are two Universities who archive the Florence Crittenton materials. One is the University of Minnesota. The other is Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

Please email me directly if you'd like me to see if I have info on the Flo Crit in which you are interested and I will try to get back to you asap. If I don't, re-email me, please! Summers are hectic! Thanks!
