Yeah, my youngest did that a couple of months ago. Had a pretty tough couple of weeks. Sometimes babies like something cold to chew on. It numbs a little. Like an unopened can of soda, some ice or frozen fruit in one of those mesh feeder baggies, a frozen waffle. Or you could chill his food - my baby loved cold applesauce. Mine had his teeth come in pretty fast really. Seemed like every 2nd or 3rd day for 2 weeks was pretty tough. But then that was it. Hope he feels better soon . . .

DS had 2 come in and then 2 weeks later another 2. (His first four all in his 10th/11th month). But I feel like he's been teething forever. Anyway, we have loads of those cold teething things in the fridge but he's almost 1 and since he's had those things for 6 months or more they are "baby toys" to him. He never went for any home made cold strips of wash clothes or anything like that. I like to reserve Tylenol for more serious issues like fevers or headache/earaches so what to do?
I kind of think that on the bad days when I gave him the homeopathic teething tablets he did feel better! You have to use them as directed exactly but honestly they seemed to help. The only other things that worked were cold bottles (water bottles etc.) he only likes grown up things so that worked great (he esp. likes turning over the bottles and biting on the bottoms?!?) and teething biscuits. They are so messy but they dissolve and are not a choking hazard and he just sits there gnawing away, even when he had no teeth at all. Good luck! Say bye bye to the gummy baby smile :-(

Parker just cut five teeth in two weeks. Now he's grinding them. It's fun times over here.
As for what to use: We use a combo of Teething Tablets (homeopathic) and Baby Orajel in the q-tip (much better than sticking your finger in baby's mouth).

Oh yeah. DD's first four came in within five days. Two more followed about three days after that. She's currently working on another four or five.
Tylenol is our friend. Also, cold wet washcloths are the best. DD carries one with her everywhere and we just switch them out when they start to dry too much. She's damp, but she's happy. |

I give Cooper motrin...it's the only thing that works. I usually give it to him before he goes to bed (or else he wakes up in pain in the middle of the night) and sometimes when he gets up. I only do a combo of Tylenol / Motrin if it's real bad.
My dr said that it's best to give them motrin because they ARE in pain..teething hurts...and the pain won't stop so giving them something like tablets are good (and we do) but they won't last. Of course each family is different so you will have to find something that works for yours!
