OK here's a nap question
So E never was a good napper. he takes naps about 2 hours after getting up maybe 80 percent of the time and that seems to be the only 100% sure nap of the day. Lasts about an hour. So 9:30-11 ish is the average time I can't really make any plans. Then we get up, eat lunch and have a day out. He may or may not sleep in car or in the afternoon when we get back. Lately though he does seem to like a 3pm nap. He's so backwards, he never slept during the day as an infant.
So I'm trying to join some activity groups and have had to turn down all the morning ones because of his nap. (they are always 10-10:30. I accept the 2pm ones because he's probably up and fine for that though he will surely sleep on the car ride home. When we have an afternoon out and get back at 3:30/4 he can nap for 2 hours! So it makes me wonder if he really needs the mid morning AND mid afternoon nap or if he needs the mid afternoon nap more and I can try cuttng out the morning nap and see what happens. How do people do any activities when the baby takes two naps? Another thought is he can get 1/2 hour pm nap in the car on the way to the activity but is that enough? He never napped and now he seems to need naps and I'm not reading his cues clearly!

Just saw that this has been here for a while, so I'll throw out my 2 cents. If he's sleeping well at night, I'd continue with that 9:30 nap and the afternoon nap after your activities. If his night sleeping is getting shorter, then maybe he doesn't need both daytime naps. It sounds like he's tired out by 3:30 though, so he must need it.
It IS hard to plan your day around 2 naps! While I was somewhat bummed to lose one of them (less mommy time), it sure did make outings easier. Hope things are clearing themselves up. Things are always changing with these little ones aren't they?
