Oh also, by the way, stage 3 foods in the larger jars in the store...I bought a few and although he is 13 mos. he doesn't seem ready. We had a huge puke party at supper 2 days ago because he got choked on a piece of carrot in the veggie blend...I mean, everything came up and out. I tell him all the time to chew, chew, I guess just keep at it? He has 3 top teeth (center) and 3 bottom teeth (center also). I hate to have to puree the baby food.

Suggestions?

Blessings, Michelle

Michelle, E HATES stage 3. Would rather eat finger food. Lucky J likes tomatoey things! E has been difficult lately: in England he ate mostly goldfish and cheerios with half jars of organic food here and there.

I'm gonna try soup!

I have been making my own baby food. I use the book Super Baby Food and also the website Make Homemade Baby Food Recipes, Homemade Baby Food Recipes, Solid Food Baby Tips, Baby Nutrition & more! for recipe ideas. I made frozen fruit and veggie cubes in teh beginning but now I make big casserole dishes and cut them into pieces to freeze.

Preparing the baby food is really good suggestion and I think every mom should follow this.

I've made my own carrots, peas, mashed potatoes, bananas, sweet potatoe. The banana I just scrape with the spoon right off the real thing. Baby V apparently hates the pureed store-bought bananas they feed her in daycare, but she eats it up when I give her the real deal. The carrots and potatoes I cook thoroughly and then mash before feeding. The peas I used from a can, and I'm trying to transition her to it by combining with other food, bc she's not feeling the mashed peas by themselves.
