Teething Three Month Old! Help!

My daughter is just over 3 months old and I think (and my mom thinks, so it must be true) that she is teething. Lots of drooling, chewing on her hands and fingers, running her tongue over her gums, not eating as much and somewhat cranky and clingy! Didn't think it would start so early!
Any suggestions for what helps...Tylenol doesn't seem to do much. I bought Advil, Orajel and Hyland's Tablets yesterday but haven't used them yet as she seems okay today. I'm a little nervous about the Hyland's Tabs...are they okay to use? Anyone have success with them?
Also does the pain and irritation seem to come and go during the day or from day to day? She has seemed worse in the early evening the last few days.

Thanks for any help!!

Cameron also started teething that early! His tends to get really bad a few days to a week before the tooth pops through! Tylenol works well for us. We have used the Hyland's a few times. It is okay. He is such a happy baby, that we don't usually do much for it. He just deals with it and is a little more grouchy. If he has trouble sleeping, we try something. Cameron loves to chew on teething toys, wash cloths, burp cloths, his clothes, etc. There is really not much you can do. Hang in there and it will pass.

I think our babe was about the same age when he started doing the same thing! He was 5 or 6 months old,t hough, before that first tooth actually came through the gum!!!!

What worked best for us then were the Camillia drops - homeopathic, and they lasted MUCH longer than Orajel.

We use Hyland's tablets now (mostly because we ran out of the last Camillia drops in the box, and I had purchased the Hylands earlier, but was afraid to give him the tablets when he was tiny. I shouldn't have worried! A few of my friends used them w/ great success. Try one - they melt IMMEDIATELY on the tongue. No worry about choking.

My boy LOVES them now. They are our lifesaver, now that he's working on several molars at once. I think he finds the sensation of them dissolving to be very amusing.....

Can you dissolve the tablets in a drop of water and then squirt it in the baby's mouth?? We used the Camillia too. Our older son got his first 4 teeth at 4 mos and had all his teeth, even his 2 yr molars, by 18 mos. I hope they pop through soon but man, once that toothy grin is gone, it is so sad!

We used Gummomile (sp?) found at Wild Oats. It is made with clove and was the ONLY thing that worked for Bug...after 3 sleepless nights we were relieved!

hey Kat

I have used hurricane gel w/ mandy. She still uses it now w/ her molars. You have to ask for it over the counter, (they have to order it most places dont keep it in stockk since it's a little known secret), and it normally costs about $10 a jar and it lasts for ever.... It is better than oralgel. My grandad was a pharmacist and he told me about it when mandy was little.

My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and has also started what I think is teething. Same symptoms you are talking about (i.e., excessive drooling, hands/fists in mouth). Besides the hands/fists in mouth she does not seem bothered by it so I have done nothing. To avoid the hands in mouth I have been using pacifiers which cuts down on the drool and still leaves her satisfied.
