crawling-when?
Our little boy just started rolling over. When did your baby crawl? I am wondering how behind he might be? We have had and early intervention evaluation and he qualifies.

Nicholas didn't crawl until almost eight months. He's very content at each stage of his development, not finding a need to branch to the next move. He stayed with sitting and rolling to where he needed to go for a long, long time. Right now, he CAN stand on his own and has taken one step... but doesn't find a need for it.

It is just so amazing how different each of these special little beings will be! Just yesterday, we were out talking w/ our little neighbor who is 2 months younger than our son. He's already saying several words, has A MOUTHFUL of teeth, is walking as much as ours, and is almost as big.
And I agree w/ Jenna - our little guy only does things when he feels he needs to. It's funny. But back to crawling - our little guy spent about a month scooting backwards and twisting and turning sideways before he would crawl. ONce he figured out how to move forward, he was off like a flash-- looked like he'd been crawling for months!

I agree, it is amazing how different they can be. H is supercurious, which I think might have spurred some of the mobility. He started scooting at about 4 1/2 months, moving into more of a "combat crawl" between 6 and 7 months. He was in full crawling mode by 8 months and started pulling up and cruising almost immediately after he figured out the full crawl. He started walking completely on his own about 3 weeks before his first birthday.
The little girl 2 doors down that's his age is just now pulling up and standing, but she's a chatterbox. |

Jessica was an early crawler and took off like a shot a few days after turning 6 months old. For about 1 1/2 months prior she was trying to crawl, scoot, etc. As soon as she could crawl she also started pulling up. She is now on the verge of walking.

Bug rolled over at 3 months, sat up at 5 months, crawled at 8 months, pulled herself to standing at 9 months and then, waited to walk til 16 months. I was nervous wondering if there was something wrong but now she runs all over the place, never stops and talks like a 4yo. Each kid is different. Roo is almost 4 months and is barely considering rolling over. He loves it just the way it is, lol! I don't know how old your little one is but if you're worried, I'd ask your ped what is normal and see if they are concerned. |

our boy is 9 months old
Our little boy is 9 months old and only rolling one way. He is currently receiving Early intervention services. I am just wondering if I am worrying too much. All of his other skill areas are on target (fine motor, adaptive and so on).
Any words of advise? |

No advise but I'm sure you've talked to your ped about it. My little on started crawling at 6-7 months, walked at 9-10 months, and is almost 17 months and only says about 4 words. I believe that it will be in their time and it can't be rushed. If you are that concerned make a quick phone call to the ped and see what they have to say. Since Kelcee was an early walker I thought it would be great. Notttttttttt. I would now have loved a little more time of holding her.
