Woobie took his first "big boy bath" this week in the big tub. He LOVED it! He just sat in his little bath seat and watched his toys and sat up so big! He also must be going through a growth spurt, because last night within 3 hours time he at almost a WHOLE big container of the Gerber mixed veggies and two full bottles (full for him is 6 oz). What a little piggy!
Marci--isn't the laughing so sweet of a sound? No teeth yet here, but those gums are lethal. Woob decided to gnaw on my hand last night and left a bruise! |

Awwww. You got pictures, didn't you? I just love those bath time pictures! How fun!
Be careful in the tub - we're not used to one (it's on the to-do list. Right now, he has to bathe in his inflatable ducky tub in the standup shower - oh my aching back!), and so we used a bath ring at my mom's house in a tub, and when he started to get out, he tried to stand up, and slipped and hit his little chin on the edge of the tub AND HOWWWWWWWLLLLLED. It was so very, very sad! Mean ol' bathtub!

Oh the big bath tub--what a ball!! Megan loved finally being able to move around!! I can't believe Woobie is old enough for that already. Wowser!!
Our big things this week--first "kiddie meal" at Baja Fresh, including FIRST DRINK BOX (they do 100% juice and applesauce there, along with a cheese quesadilla and rice--at 13 months, she loves Mexican!) AND....drumroll please...we are done with bottles. She's had all of one since Saturday morning. She'll take whatever kind of cup we give her and seems unphased by not being offered a bottle anymore. Amazing. We are tackling our next milestone tomorrow--a six hour car ride. We'll see how that goes! |

Did anyone else's child crawl on their backs? My son did that forever before he started crawling the regular way. But now he crawls EVERYWHERE, and pulls up on everything. He's been saying 'mama' since he was 6 months old, and just recently started saying 'dada'. He's had two teeth for a while now, and I am (not so) patiently awaiting his top two that keep hinting they are ready to come out. As for his first haircut, that was at 3 months. This kid had tons of hair! He's had one about once a month or every 6 months since (it's pin straight and sticks up in the wierdest spots). He also started table foods last week and loves everything he's had so far, especially oatmeal. He hated all the baby food that we tried, especially the cereal, so I'm a little surprised he's taken to table food so well. I think that's about all for now.

As of yesterday, Woobie is mobile! He has finally learned to roll from back to front--he looks so proud and determined. Problem--rolled to his front in his crib at 4:30 this morning and got really stuck and ticked off. Did it about three times until I fed him and he fell back asleep...I'm tired. I'm sure that's only the beginning of our adventures as he starts rolling around the house. I think I'm gonna dress him in swiffer sheets from now on...

HILARIOUS, Em! LOVE the Swiffer sheet idea. Hey, maybe that could be our Halloween costume....
Woobie, you're on a roll! I remember those getting stuck in the middle of the night cries for help...... Occasionally, A will still get a foot wriggled through the crib bars and protest pretty loudly....

Oh Nicholas.
I laid Nick down for a nap this morning. I heard him talking to himself and playing in his crib but he wasn't crying or fussing. After a half hour I had determined that he wasn't going to sleep, so I went in to get him so we could run some errands. I walked in the door and found him sitting in the center of his crib... in just his diaper. My mind flip-flops and I think, "Did I lay him down in just his diaper?" I walk over to the crib to find him sitting on top of his long sleeved, long legged, footie-ed, ten-snapped pajamas. All snaps? Undone. My Son? Smiling proudly. I've got a nudist, folks. Oh dear.

Folks, I feel like a new woman today. I got seven uninterrupted hours of sleep last night!! The little man slept from 8:30 until 5! This is a wonderful feeling. Let's keep sleeping through the night!!

We have taken steps! Yes - steps. Until he realizes he's taken the steps, then he has to fall down.
TOo cute. I think Mamaw was even more excited than Mama! Too funny.

I forgot to post our most recent milestone yesterday: shots! We went to the doctor Monday and he got his first shots. He weighed in at 13 pounds 5 ounces and is 25 inches long. He is 90th percentile for weight and 97th for height!!

I love this thread! Our little guy most recently discovered he has a voice -- and let us know it about 5:00 am one day this week! And like another poster who has a 3 month old, our little guy loves his thumb, and it is so cute to watch him, because he gets his hand somehow upside down and twisted with his head to the side and fingers straight up in his eye. Last night, we had him on his tummy, and I do believe that if he could figure out how to get that silly arm out of the way, he would roll over from his tummy to his back.
Jenna -- I just read your last post -- how funny is that little man of yours -- I can just picture him sitting there with this look on his face, like, look Mom what I did!!
