Important Teething Bulletin

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you important news - BABY A HAS FINALLY BROKEN TOOTH #3 THROUGH! (HBV, you reading this???)

OH MY WORD! That poor guy started w/ the first 2 bottom at Easter, and JUST got the first top one through last Friday. Eee gads that took a long time! I knew it was coming soon, as he had a fever and a few really fussy days right before (and, yes, the ped nurse told me that even if the docs and books say no fever w/ teething, all her kids had them, so she's a believer!).

We've been brushing his teeth with the cutest little blue and yellow ducky toothbrush for a while now. He mostly just chews on it, but LOVES to brush his teeth!!! All 2 1/4 of them!

Yay for the 3rd tooth for Baby A! H is still at just one, w/ the second one showing.

And hooray for Cameron sleeping!

Here's our latest--- within the last 3 days, H IS TOTALLY WALKING ON HIS OWN. EVERYWHERE. ALL THE TIME.

Wow - They just start doing everything at once, don't they??? We hardly get a chance to enjoy one milestone, when suddenly you're documenting and cheering about the next one!

Isa, it is just amazing how once they figure out the forward gear, in no time at all, they look like they've been crawling for months!

And H - give that boy a ribbon for walking. Wow.

GOOOOOOOOOO SUPERBABIES!!

climbing mountains

Suddenly, our child the monkey is a climber! I just started noticing on Saturday how he climbs onto a piece of his toy house that is about 3 inches off the ground so he can peep over the roof at me. Thought it was so cute!

Yesterday, he climbed up the stairs. 11 of them the first time, 12 the second and all the way up. And FAST. Like he's beeing climbing for months. I'd tried several times to introduce him to the stairs and help him climb one or two, but he wasn't into it at all.

Of course, the first 3 steps were done on his own, without an audience, while I was in the kitchen mixing up cookies. I did a quick check - where are the dogs? It's quiet. Where is the baby? Too quiet. Walked into living room and round big dog on his bed, and there's the monkey - grinning at me through the spokes of the bannister like a big adventurer!

So adding the stairs to my list of things to be vacuumed daily to remove dog hair.......

Okay, I forgot to post this last week. Cameron laughed on Monday, Labor Day!! He was smiling at me so big and he kind of chuckled. (Of course, he may have been trying to talk and the smile was so big it came out sounding like a laugh, but I think it was a laugh.) He has not done it since! Daddy is so sad he missed it...

Don't you love that first laugh? So, so cute.

And Stork, you are in trouble now----H's favorite thing to do is climb. Stairs, furniture, mama, daddy....you name it! I marvel at the resourcefulness, but it also scares me to death.

Yeah to everyone's firsts. Jessica's newest firsts are waving (consistently) and rolling a ball back and forth with us. She is also trying to say "kitty" and now can say "hi, Daddy" (not hi Mommy though of course).

Marci - Yes, I love the laughs! A did it for a few months only at night in his sleep WAY before he ever did it out loud when he was awake. That was the neatest "first". When he finally did it during the day, it was the sweetest sound!

Now he gets himself absolutely cracked up at the strangest things.

K is climbing also. She moves the chair out from the table and gets up on it and then tries the table. She is also showing me what I need to do when I go potty. Now, if only she would do it. I would love to see her potty trained by 2 (hehe). She is exploding with teeth now too. And it shows in her sleep habits. Boy are the nights a little tough right now.

Thumbs up Keeping Track of Milestones

This is a great topic! I just wanted to share a site that I use to keep track of my twins milestones. the site is called boppajournals.com.
The PT at early intervension told me about it. I am able to keep track of all of the standard milestones, but also can post my own personal ones, like when Miles ate his first strawberry, and fun items like that. They also help with tracking teeth, and growth milestones.

I used to worry all the time about not hitting milestones at the expected times, but boppajournals made milestones fun again!

- Proud mom of 1 year old twin boys who are not terrors!
