Thanks to all the great suggestions on this! Not sure if our cradle cap is entirely gone yet, but his scalp looks GREAT now! I love getting advice on here (the NICE kind!!!!)

pediatrician told us to use head and sholders sensitive skin. 1 wash and cradle cap is gone. I have only had to use it 2ce in 9 months. you must be careful though because it will sting their eyes if you get any in her face

Our son had a real bad case of cradle cap - so bad that most of his hair fell out
Our ped told us to put baby oil on his scalp and after five minutes massage it with a soft tooth brush, twice a day. Once a week, use dandruff shampoo. It worked like charm, after a month our son had his beautiful hair back ![]()

Chiming late, too...but we used Foam shampoo for newborns by Mustela...it is $$, but even says on it "washes away flakes associated with cradle cap" and they are sooo right about that! it smells good, worked great and rinses easily, too....good for a babe that doesn't like hairwashing like mine!

I wish this thread existed before I had to deal with Jack's cradle cap. I hadn't seen this one mentioned, so I thought I'd share.
First, we massaged his head with veggie oil, let it soak for 15 minutes, then rub scalp with soft toothbrush. Then, we washed his hair (we use Griggles & Grins sensitive shampoo). Most of the cc left, but there were still persistent scales. I washed his hair 3 times a week for 2 weeks. I started with Burt's Bees Apricot Oil, combed it through his hair, then washed with the shampoo. In 2 weeks, all the scales were gone. I now wash his hair 2 times a week, and start with the oil. He's been cradle cap free for about a month or so. Funny aside: My MIL thought that the cradle cap was freckles on his head. Hope this helps! -R
