Hi! I am trying to adopt my niece. I have had a home study done and everything went well except I had been investigated in the past for drug abuse and neglect for my own child. The neglect was disproved, but I was in fact a drug user. I went to rehab and have been clean for one year. They turned down my home study today but my case worker said she would talk to her supervisor to see if she could reevalute as she did not know that I had been to rehab... What are my chances of being able to adopt? What happens if they stick to the decision? My niece has been with me off and on for 2 years and do not want her to leave me, I love her so much and she needs the stability. There is no one else in the family to take her.
