I am so happy for your family for finally finalizing!! I definitely understand the bittersweet feeling-- celebrating one son while still processing the loss of another. It's okay to have all of those feelings. . . and many more.

We got our finalization court documents, since we had to do it by mail. Now we have to wait for a BC and then we can get a SSN card. Now i wonder how long does this all take. Shane is doing well, he turned 11 months on a couple of days ago and went swimming for the first time!

The adoption agency I used to complete my home visits called today to see if I still had friends trying to adopt. They are located in Southfield, MI and they have many AA babies available or being born soon; but no home study ready parents. The mothers are looking for AA families or Bi-racial and would love to find a family in MIchigan or near. If you are homestudy ready or just want to talk with the agency email me and I will get you in touch with the coordinator.

Can you beleive Shane is 1. I got picture posted on my website below of his birthday party. The hubby and I have been thinking about getting into this adoption race again maybe next year. So we planned our big trip for next year and then will try and work on baby #2. There is still some fears that I need to overcome and more so now because Shane will be affected by a failed adoption. I don't know how to handle that. I will need you all to be with me, but praying that it doesn't happen.

My daughter recently made 1 as well. I think it will be at least a couple more years before I start working on a second adoption.

I am just still bubbling with Joy that I finally met JoAnn this past weekend. She was the link that connected me to my wonderful adoption attorney and agency I am volunteering with now. Shane is now 14 months and still enjoying Gym and Swim Class. His BirthMother is doing great, we just talked 2 weeks ago. As much as I keep saying give me another year before we start trying to add another loving child to our family...I just want to start today. But some of the old pains are still there, it is scary. I wish I could shake it, but wonder will I really be able to.

I was so excited to meet you, too!

We've got our paperwork done in April and we've been waiting again. We asked our agency not to call us until all of the court stuff is done because I, too, was scared of any more failed matches and I didn't think we could handle the roller coaster of emotions. I wonder if there's any way to ever fully get over the pain of a failed match or failed adoption.

How nice for the two of you to meet!!! There are a couple of folks I've met on these boards that have been wonderful friends. I can't wait until the day we actually meet up. As for the attorney/agency you used, could you PM to me? We're done adopting but I do have a friend still actively trying again.
