My husband and I are considering adopting a child from Ethiopia. We are considering Bethany and Little Miricle (which partners with Children's Hope). I would love to hear any feedback on any of them.

Additionally I would love any info, good or bad, on agencies you have used.

We are in the US and are both citizens.

Do you mean the reduction in number of adoptions processed? Or something else?

I thought they were still processing but it is greatly reduced. Is that right?

I too had heard that they had GREATLY reduced the amount of adoptions they were putting through.

They closed a whole bunch of the orphanages that were associated with (probably not the right term) the adoption agencies and moved the kids and things are not clear. I think there are deeper problems and read today one of the biggest agencies has decided not to take new apps "apparently" due to the extensive wait times. You can chalk it up to a gut feeling based on what I am seeing and reading, but I would do extensive research first.

You may want to first talk to Ethica or PEAR - both are groups of AP's who believe in Ethics FIRST. I think you should be able to contact them privately.
