Ethiopia or Bust :)
I am discouraged that most of the posts here under Ethiopia are about the agencies. We are trusting that we made a good choice and are FULL FORCE in our adoption journey!!!!! Our homstudy will be complete this coming Wednesday...then we just wait on the final report. While that is being prepared we have been submitting all required documents to the adoption agency and preparing our dossier. With our agancy as soon as the homestudy and 171-H (or some gov. form
are complete we are placed in the "waiting parents file" and then we complete the dossier!!!!!!! We are so excited to have our children join our family! Love to hear where everyone else is in the process!! |

We were homestudy ready Fed 14 2011...we are being fingerprinted for our I600-A application for immigration on April 21...AND ON APRIL 1 2011 WE WERE MATCHED!!!!! We were not even waiting yet and we have a child who will be our daughter! We will be calling her "Truth" and using her first name as a middle name. She is a beautiful energetic 9 year old living with HIV and a hearing impairment...we are sooooo excited!!!!!!!!! We are praying for a speedy trial...our agency obviously cannot give a timeframe though (fingers crosses) bc of her HIV status (level 3) we could poss. travel yet this summer!!!!!!! We are praying that Truth will be home in Gods perfect timing!!!!!

Happy to have you aboard! It's great to have the support of others who are going through the process. It's been a lesson in patience and endurance, but it will be worth it when we're finally able to bring our little ones home!

Ludmomma,
How is your process going? I am new here also, just at the very beginning stages of researching countries I can adopt from (I'm a single woman). Ethiopia seems to be a viable option, but just wondering how the process is going for you so far? Best! |
