Disturbing video on Ethiopian Adoptions
I was sent a link to this video about Ethiopian adoptions. I want to warn you that it is a very disturbing video.
As someone who is strongly considering adopting a second child, and strongly considering Ethiopia, I want to be as informed as I can be. I want to know all of the realities, even the ugly ones. Here is the link. Foreign Correspondent It is a long video. More than 20 minutes. When you get to the site, click on "Fly Away Children." I know that we are not allowed to discuss specific agencies on this forum, and so I cleared the video with a moderator first. Even though the video profiles the practices of a specific agency, no discussion naming that agency can take place in these forums, or the video will be removed.

What I can say is that I saw the video yesterday at work and cried. And it made me question the origins of my daughter. And I have spent the morning today trying to find a connection with someone other then my agency who can tell me about my daughter. I do not want to learn that my daughter was "harvested" but at this point I have no idea.

wow. someone is actually actively recruiting children to be adopted. i would not have believed it if i had not seen it.

Absolutely heartbreaking...the need to establish hard and fast rules with mandated rigerous oversight must be everyones first priority.
