So I'm finally taking this step. Now when I get home to tell my Husband. Ok so to me it feels like "Steps".
I am putting my name out as having been a stalker in the Ethiopian forums on here for a while.
My Husband & I do intend on adopting in the Future & no matter how hard I/we try I/we can't shake the feeling that once we are finally ready there will be at least one Soul Child waiting in Ethiopia for us to be Momma, Dadda & so far Brother.
We've been doing a fair bit of research in the mean time, & discussions on what "Special Needs" we would be willing to accept. But in that department we don't know what kind of or how prevalent the different "Special Needs" are in Ethiopia. We do know that due to our Son's "Special Need" that we would not consider Neonatal strokes/hydrocephalus a problem. We've gone so far as me asking our son's Pediatrician (who is actually a "High risk", and foster care & international adoption Pedi, we couldn't have fallen into better hands) about taking on not only any future Bio-Kids but those adopted, where ever they be from(will also be asking our son's Neurosurgeon the same question/s). And the fact of our son's problem being a common problem for Preemies, Low Birth Weight, & Multiples, which are often one & the same, we feel that we could most offer such a demanding sibling set ourselves. But we're not ruling out any other sibling sets either. There are also some serious Heart Babies in my family & my In-laws are actually a Home/foster for children & adults with many high need "Special Needs", not to mention to help us out we have more than a few close family members, as an example I was 21 before I fully comprehended what the difference in relation ship was between the Aunt & Uncles that are my Mom's siblings, & the Aunt's & Uncles that are my Grandparents siblings!!
I have been thinking about & researching adoption for years, including international, but it wasn't even 2 years ago when I discovered that Ethiopia was actually open for IA, & that Moment I knew, so called my husband & told him that, when we were ready & set there would be a Soul Child there & waiting for us.

Sorry for the Long intro, but the long & short of my questions are ..
What are the most prevalent & serious special needs we might be asked to consider?

Can I get a PM for Agencies in Canada? This current Bankruptcy of the agency working out of Canada has me terrified that we will not be able to get our Soul Child(ren)

Does Ethiopia currently or expectantly( I know everything & anything can change at the drop of a hat) have restrictions on Length of Marriage or being paper(legally) married? We are planning on getting married but want to have the $$ to have a proper wedding(the plan on saving for that is concurrent with our adoption saving), but if we need that stupid piece of paper we'll go get it tomorrow.
