We Accepted A Waiting Child Referral!
We completed our dossier and sent it to our agency on March 17th.
We were requesting a baby girl, however, we also requested a waiting child dvd from our agency. The dvd was received and it actually sat on the counter for couple of days before I remembered to view it. I honestly was not expecting to see so many beautiful older kids that were waiting for a home. I found myself mesmerized with this one very special young girl. She's between the ages of 10 - 12 years old and has been in the orphanage for a year and a half. See has seen both of her best friends leave with loving families and she still manages to smile for every picture, maintains a 93% in all her classes and is sweet and friendly. Well, on April 6th, we officially accepted her referral!  We are over the moon excited and pray for a smooth court process so she can join our family sooner than later! We will soon have another beautiful daughter in our family.

 December 31, 2002 Prince Luke was born.   February 5, 2005 Princess Anna home from Guatemala  November 20, 2008 started the process to adopt from EthiopiaFebruary 20, 2009 Sent dossier paperwork to Building Arizona Families for proofing March 6, 2009 fingerprinted by USCIS.  March 10, 2009 APPROVAL by USCIS. March 13, 2009 Received I171H form. March 18, 2009 Final state authentications received and sent to agency. YEAH!! Bye bye dossier. Have fun at the Washington, DC Consulate.  April 8, 2009 Dossier is on its way to Ethiopia April 13, 2009 Dossier arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

I HAD NO IDEA!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! Those waiting children can REALLY grab your heart (I just tucked one into bed who grabbed mine!
 ). I cannot wait to see her picture so get passed court ASAP!

UPDATE!!!!! Our dossier was received in Ethiopia on April 28th, they completed the translations and certifications and entered our file in court last week in order to receive a court date. Our agency is saying its taking about three weeks to receive a court date. I'm thinking it'll be sometime early July?? Praying we pass on the first attempt. (Seriously praying!!)
We have received three letters and one that's being mailed by a wonderful parent that picked up their child in Ethiopia. She is an amazing girl! We are so blessed to have found her. She has a wonderful outlook, is full of love and can't wait to come home!!!! I'll post as soon as we hear when we have an assigned court date so everyone can keep us in their thoughts and prayers!

What a sweet experience! I'm so happy that this little girl will finally have a forever family and you're on your way to a new daughter. Adoption is truly guided by a higher power.
