I received this from our agency this morning. Not sure if any of you have received this information, but I thought I'd pass it along.
The Ethiopian courts are currently scheduled to close on Wednesday August 5, 2009. All documents must be lodged into the courts at least fifteen (15) days prior to the closing date and will be heard subject to available court dates as determined by the Ethiopian courts. Documents submitted after the deadline will be ratified after the courts reopen in the fall of 2009. Currently two judges are presiding over adoption hearings, due to the increase in adoption cases a third judge is scheduled to be added this spring.

That date seems accurate to me. Another agency told their clients that the court would be closing on July 8, 2009. That is much earlier then previous years. Court normally closes the first week of August and opens sometime in the end of September. I am glad to hear the possibility of a third judge so that cases can go through the system and kids can come home.

I'm really happy to hear about the 3rd judge. That would help so much with all the court cases.
