Hi,

Some of you may remember me from the Guatemalan forum. We have 2 children from Guatemala in addition to a daughter from China, a son from Russia and a bio son. Now, we have begun our journey to Ethiopia and we couldn't be more excited!

Just wanted to say 'hello' to everyone here.

When I was researching agencies some months ago, it seemed as though the Ethiopian adoptions were moving along rather quickly however, our agency has recently said that referrals are taking about 12 months...we are hoping it is not that long....

Glad to see you here. I'm on the Guate board too, although much less active than I used to be. I have a 2 year old from Guatemala and just brought home a 6 year old from Ethiopia.

Welcome to Ethiopian adoptions! Sounds like you have a very diverse family. As for the length of the referral -- generally speaking you can count on the estimate for a referral from an agency to be fairly accurate. Keep in mind that since agencies control their own referrals the referral length will vary from agency to agency. Hope you have a good journey.

Best wishes on your journey..we are also in the process waiting on a referral for an infant boy. We have been on the wait list 2 months 2 weeks and 3 days and we belive we are at #13 right now official update will come next week. We started at #21 and just in sept we were #19 so there has been a big jump this past month. Our agency is saying 6-8 months for referral.
