Hey girls! I was just wondering what kind of relationship you all have with your social workers?? For 10 weeks now I have been waiting for a VT document to be approved-- finally after begging and insisting my agency and social worker to check into it, we find out the state has NO record of my request (even tho they cashed my check back in early November) As you can imagine I am very upset and MAD that for 70 days we have been waiting for NOTHING!! I have still yet to hear from my social worker, it usually takes a couple days for her to respond to my calls and emails. I am so frusterated, I thought she would be the one to support us during our ups and downs of the process-- but instead I turn to you guys. This can't be a normal social worker - client relationship, can it????

I"m very fustrated with our homestudy agency already and we are not even into the process yet. This is not a good sign. I'm just glad we seem to have a great adoption agency

I've had to hold my social worker's hand through this whole thing. She's nice, just not on the ball at all. Start calling daily! What doc are you waiting on? It stinks you've essentially wasted all that time when you've got your kiddo picked out (right??)

This process makes you absolutely sometimes!

Our social worker always says "you are such an easy family to work with." Well as of yesterday we have become very NEEDY. I will start calling her everyday for sure.

We just found out yesterday the little girl we were waiting to request is about to be matched with another family It is heart breaking to think she could have been ours if this HUGE mistake wasn't made. I wish my concerns weren't brushed off weeks ago when I thought we had a problem.

A hard lesson learned-- for now on, I will make sure our needs are met.

I have a very good relationship with our social worker. She has been very quick to respond to any calls or emails that I send her, and she had all of our paperwork completed and back to our facilitator within a month. I still keep in contact with her for updates. I guess I just got lucky and found a really caring, wonderful person for our home study and visits. Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble with yours. I can imagine that has to be extremely frustrating!! It's hard enough to wait until matched, but to know you lost an opportunity because of their carelessness would be horrible.

I also have a wonderful SW. We have been with the same gal for 2yrs in March. She has always answered phone calls in a timely manner and my Homestudy was done in two weeks.
I am so sorry that you have been having such an awful time.
