Hello everyone, My name is Angie and my DH and I have a little 21month old girl that we adopted from Guatemala. We brought her home in Oct 06. We had a failed domestic adoption this last year. That was very hard on us both. So we have decided that we will do another international adoption. After doing research on different countries we decided to adopt from Ethiopia. I knew yesterday when I was showing my mom children on one of the agency website and I started to cry that Ethiopia was the place my little boy is going to come home from. So we are in the middle of doing agency research.

Best of luck in your adoption process. We are starting the dossier and homestudy process now. It seemed overwhelming at first but our agency seems very helpful and i'm confident that we'll be able to get thru it without any problems.

Homestudy may seem like a awful word, but it is so easy. If you need shoulders you know where to find them.

Yup this is our first and likely only adoption. Alot of people have told me the homestudy is Not as bad as you make it out to be in your head so i'm trying to keep that in mind. Just wish our homestudy agency was as quick with communication as our adoption agency is.

Hi Im new here trying to find my way into adoption. I am an adoptee as well.
I am getting married in July and FI and I are discussing adoption. We really dont know where we will be after 2 years so we are afraid to start the process. (we live in Japan) The marriage thing is also preventing us from starting - I could adopt a Japanese born child as a single person but not as a newly wed - Most agencies require at least 2 years marriage to adopt an Ethiopian.
(PM me if you know of a place that will allow us to start earlier) I want to keep my future children in appropriate birth order so if I get pregnant, the adoption process will prolong. My life is so complicated but we know that I want to adopt a child from Ethiopia.

I'm new to this thread..we have two son's, both were adopted in the US. And now we are thinking its time for a daughter...

My baby is bi-racial, so I'm interested in adopting a black baby girl, and I think Ethiopia is where my heart is leading me.

We live in Canada, so the options available here are slightly different then the States, but I still think Ethiopia is where we are going.

We are waiting to receive our homestudy copies in the mail so we can send in our dossier.. Again we wait on our slow homestudy agency..we were told over a week ago it was done and being mailed.

Hi Everyone! I'm a 31 year-old military spouse with a 7 1/2 year-old biological son and a 2 year-old biological son. My husband is 33 and we have been married 10 years.

We just made the decision to adopt an Ethiopian daughter...last night! I'm brand new to this and have spent the past 24 hours dreaming about my little girl and researching the heck out of it all! The homestudy is making me nervous.

Will being a military family affect our eligibility? We have moved 9 times in 10 years and my spouse deploys frequently.
