After some thought, DH and I are seriously thinking about adopting from Ethiopia. We had looked into it breifly in the summer then thought we'd just try to adopt domestically again. We recently had a failed match and feel that we would like to proceed with a "sure" thing. I'm pretty sure we know which agency we are going to use and we have to update our HS to international. My question is, does anyone know how recent the medical has to be? We had our physicals when we adopted our son, so they are about 1 1/2 -2 years old. Also, has anyone on here used the escorting? If so, how did tht work for you? Thanks, for any advice.

I suggest you join the yahoo group EthiopiaAdopt (if you havn't already) and ask these questions there.
My guess is the physical would need updating but all you need is a letter saying you are physically healthy enough to parent a child. Perhaps your doctor would write this for you without seeing you again?
