Talking Twins

Has anyone been successful in adopting infant or toddler twins from Ethiopia and if so, how long did you have to wait for the referral? My wife and I are thinking about requesting twins.http://forums.adoption.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

He...he...

I guess the response was removed... just looks like you're talking to yourself now!

I just got a video from one agency (the one I think I will likely go with) and my hubby and I were SHOCKED by the number of twins they were showing... Like 4 sets....

And the narrator said another set was arriving that afternoon. At the end of the video, they briefly showed the newest arrival twins.

My goodness... twins, twins, twins everywhere! Is it something in the water!?!?

Obviously, and influx of twins is not something anyone can predict or count on... but apparently it happens.

I know, for some reason it was removed and now I look a little crazy! Oh well.
You got a video? How cool? Is that something that most agencies do? What stage are you at in the process?

I'm interested knowing more about this as well. Wish the post hadn't been removed. Anyways, I'd love to hear more from those who are adopting or have adopted twin infants. Thanks!

Video - Twins

One of the agencies offers the option of sending a video of waiting children for $10. Since we were in the information gathering stage, it wasn't like we were close to being able to potentially pick a child from the video.

However, I can say that it ABSOLUTELY threw us over the edge as far as deciding that adopting from Ethiopia was the right course of action for us.

And I've shown that video maybe 20 times to friends, family, my mom, etc. Frankly, some folks give you the "Oh boy, you guys ARE crazy" look when I tell them and the video and one article I found seems to stop them dead in their tracks and turn them instantly into folks who are on-board, enthusiastic for us, excited to follow our journey.

The video is maybe 15 minutes long. It shows lots of kids - all the older ones first - and the sibling groups. They also show the baby room with DOZENS and DOZENS of babies lined up and crawling around and getting fed. It looks very noisy and crazy - but loving and charming. As charming as an orphanage can be, I suppose. In the course of that particular month's video, they showed four sets of twin babies! The last set arrived earlier that day and, I believe, were 7 days old!
