Korean Buddhism
I am living in Korea and have adopted one older boy and am working on adopting another. They were raised in a foster care facility (thats what they call it, but it's another name for an orphanage) and told they were Christian. But, when we walk around town, they boys seem to know more about Buddhism. I am not exactly a Christian myself, just spiritual, so I have no problems exposing them to other religions. Has anyone else exposed their children to their homelands religions and how has it influenced them? I am just curious. Also, there is the native shamanistic beliefs here, somewhat similar to Shintoism, which I am fascinated by I might add, so how have you done in this religious area?

no Buddhist adopters?
I see no replies to this thread, which was started 3 years ago! Does this mean there are NO adoptive parents who are Buddhist?
I am a cradle Catholic recently turned follower of Christ, still unsatisfied with some of the teachings coming from I'm sure well-meaning Christians. In my quest to truly follow Christ and not a church, I am finding a lot of similarities between His teachings and those of the Buddha. So I am interested in including Buddhism in my spiritual life, and hoping to find a Buddhist community I can participate in without too much ritual that I've also seen in some Buddhist temples. So, anyone out there?
