Lithuanian Adoptions Fifth Annual Picnic

Mark your calendars! LAPAS will be holding our Fifth Annual Picnic on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Tomalonis Family Farm in Mill Hall PA. Updates on activities and lodging will be coming soon and can be found on the LAPAS website: http://www.orgsites.com/pa/lapas

As always, the picnic is open to adoptive families, pre-adoptive families and adoption professionals assisting families with Lithuanian adoptions.

Update on 5th Annual Gathering

Lithuanian Adoptions Fifth Annual Gathering in the US: Saturday, August 9, 2008. Come join us on the Tomalonis Farm in Mill Hall PA for our Fifth Annual Picnic! Activities include swimming, games, crafts and more! Attendees are asked to bring an appetizer, beverage, side dish or dessert to share. Overnight accomodations are available at nearby hotels and local campgrounds:

The Comfort Inn of Lamar, Pennsylvania (570) 726-4901 (It's about 2 1/4 miles from the picnic) We have again secured an Adoption Picnic group rates , this year at $70 (yeah, less than last year!!) + 9% tax per night last. Continental breakfast included. Outdoor pool and restaurant on site. Each room has 2 full sized beds. Please request the "Adoption Picnic Rate".

Hampton inn & Suites, 24 Hospitality Lane, Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, USA 17751 (across the street from the Comfort Inn) Tel: 570-726-3939 Fax: 570-726-4094 rates start around $129 for two queen beds. Discounts available for AAA.

Fort Bellefonte Campground is family owned. Nice mostly shaded wooded sites. Miniature Golf. Internet hookups. Rates from $23 for tents to $35 for full hook-up. Other minor charges may apply. Kids under 5 Free. 1-800-487-9067

Bellefonte/State College KOA Kampground. Swimming Pool. Internet hook-ups. Shady wooded or open sites. Rates from $30 for tents to $42 for full Hook-up. Other minor charges may apply. I think kids under 4 are free. 1-800-562-8127

Camping also available at Tomalonis' farm.

We are looking for a kind hearted soul to organize a craft area for the children and another kind hearted soul to teach the little ones some Lithuanian songs/dances. If you would like to help in these areas, please contact Gina rmprhp@yahoo.com

The Tomalonis' will open their pool for us Friday evening for a casual gathering for travelers. We will also hold an informal LAPAS meeting in the early evening on the Picnic day. And, please also plan to join us for "clean up" and breakfast on Sunday.
