Before jumping to adopt from Azer...
Red what the state website is saying. Not very encouraging AT ALL

People have been waiting a VERY long time (over 2 years) for their referrals or to pick up their children.
Any agency worth it's weight is not allowing any new PAP's to apply to *just* AZ, they are requiring a back up country. Join the AZ "big" list (yahoo) before getting your hopes up high.

My husband and I are in the beginning stages of adopting from Azerbaijan. We actually just changed from Guatemala last week.

I am new to the Azerbaijan adoption idea, we were thinking about Kazakhstan, but my husband isn't a US citizen. Would love to hear how people are doing with this newly reopened program.....
