Information on adoptions from Montenegro???

My husband and I are interested in adopting a baby from Montenegro (formerly Yugoslavia). Does anyone have any information on adoption from this country?

Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated!!!

Some ideas ...

The U.S. State Department, at http://travel.state.gov/adopt website has old information for the former Yugoslavia; however, I believe that the State Department's idea that it is very difficult to adopt from the area remains on target.

To be sure, and to get updated information, contact the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, which handles Montenegro issues. The website of the embassy, at http://belgrade.usembassy.gov will have e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers for you.

You can also contact the Embassy of Serbia and Montenegro in the U.S, which is located in Washington, DC. The website of the Embassy, at www.yuembusa.org will have e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers for the embassy.

Balkans

This is very interesting. I correspond with a woman who was offered a Montenegran (sp) sibling group, 9 and 11. The children were being placed thru an agency in Florida.

It's the first time I've ever heard of Montenegran adoption - then I came here and saw this thread.

Is this a trend?

AGency in Fl for Yugo adoption?

Hi Elizabeth,

Did your friend tell you which agency this was?
I know that Bethany does Charitable work in the area,
but the only adoption I heard of recently from Serbia
was done without an agency.

PM me.
