wow, nothing like a happy ending, thanks for coming back to the thread. My daughter is 4 - also prenatally exposed to crack, has ADHD and sensory issues. Like you we have sleep issues. I spend at least 1/2 the night probably 350 days a year in her bed, and that's with melatonin. (I call her a Klingon [Cling-on] haha) She's on focolin and tenex for the adhd and si. Can I ask what helped with the sleep issues?

Sleep

I haven't found a long term solution. If she's up way late and I can tell she won't sleep I give her 1/2 over the counter sleep med. Happens about 1x every one or 2 weeks. I am taliking to sleep dr next week.

What is tenex?

the tenex works on reducing her agression, it's designed as a blood pressure med but works on agressive kids. She takes 1/2 a pill twice a day and it really helps. On sleep, I can get her down, sometimes give her melatonen, but I can't keep her asleep, she's awake by 1 and wants me in bed with her. Which I do, because I love her. I've slept the whole night in my bed maybe 1/2 a dozen times this year.

I too give my daughter melatonen each night. She takes 6mg. I also gave up the fight of sending her back to bed at 2 in the morning. She can bring a blanket and pillow in our room and sleep next to my side of the bed. She does it about 1 out 3/4 nights now. I have her in gymnastics and that really has helped with sleeping. We have a trampoline (mini and large) for her to use at night and work off her energy.

My daughter is the same age as yours and I found 3mg did nothing for her. So we moved up to 6 mg at the age of 5. I have been told that adding Omega 3-6-9 also helps kids with sleep so I am going to be checking it out.

As far as the trampoline, they do have kids indoor ones that have a bar to hold onto. Check your local craigslist you can sometimes find them there. If nothing else it would be a great Christmas gift.
