I wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Becki. I'm a SAHM of two girls. We're former foster parents and adopted our girls through the foster care system. They are 11 and 9. Both have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and they also show some symptoms of cocaine exposure. The eldest is mildy effected, the youngest is not. We just learned they have a 4 month old baby boy in foster care who tested positive for cocaine at birth and are filling out the myriad of papers so we can get our home study done as well as training done. I'm glad I found this place.

Sorry I'm responding so late! I missed this post.
Glad to see you here. Always interested in the questions and experiences of others parenting children like mine. ![]() We have 5, ranging in age from 14 down to 2. Four of our kids were prenatally exposed, two of whom were born addicted. We believe that 3 have probable FASD (no formal dx - long story), and one who could but we aren't sure. Keep posting about your process for Baby Brother. ![]()

Thanks, Barksum. The paperwork goes in tomorrow. I'd love to talk with his foster mom.

Talking with the foster parents is always helpful. It also helps to make the child more 'real', if you know what I mean? Reading about a child in the case file is one thing, but knowing that he makes a silly face every time he sees cats is another!
Hope all goes smoothly for you. ![]()
